fluid effect fire

This tutorial goes through the steps in creating realistic fire in Maya with fluid effects. The image below is a rendering from these steps.

First create a torus by selecting:

Create>NURBS Primitives>Torus

The torus will be the object that the fire is emitting out of. Somewhat like a stove.

Then create a 3D container:

Fluid Effects>Create 3D Container

Select both the torus and the container

Then select:

Fluid Effects>Add/Edit Contents>Emit From Object

You will notice a small emitter in the middle of the torus. This emitter is where the fire will come out of. It will also react around the torus because I selected "emit from object"
