This tutorial goes through the steps in creating realistic fire in Maya with fluid effects. The image below is a rendering from these steps. |

First create a torus by selecting: Create>NURBS Primitives>Torus The torus will be the object that the fire is emitting out of. Somewhat like a stove. |

Then create a 3D container: Fluid Effects>Create 3D Container |

Select both the torus and the container |

Then select: Fluid Effects>Add/Edit Contents>Emit From Object |

You will notice a small emitter in the middle of the torus. This emitter is where the fire will come out of. It will also react around the torus because I selected "emit from object" |
